For your food establishment, business, or brand to be certified as a member of the EFFECTIVE™ Food Certification Program, your food products must meet specific nutrient and ingredient criteria as well as pass certain clinical lab tests performed on our testers. Below are the criteria to claim to use the EFFECTIVE™ mark:
- For food establishments and food service providers, offer at least one product on your menu or product catalog that is currently certified for one of our health claims below.
- For meal plans, over 80% of the meals in the plan must be currently certified for one of our health claims below.
- Pay a $600.00 application or annual renewal certification fee.
IMMUNITY™ Certification Criteria & Standards:
- Over 50% of the total volume or weight of the product ingredients must come from our list of antiviral foods and drinks.
- Over 50% of the total volume or weight of the product ingredients must be whole foods or minimally processed.
- Contains less than 5 grams of added sugar or processed net carbohydrates per serving.
- Can not increase blood sugar level over 140 mg/dL after 2 hours eating one serving.
- Can not increase blood sugar level over 100 mg/dL after 5 hours eating one serving.
- Contains less than 600 mg of sodium per serving.
- Contains less than 5 grams of saturated fat per serving.
LOW CARB Certification Criteria & Standards:
- Contains at least one ingredient from our list of blood sugar lowering foods and drinks.
- Contains less than 5 grams of added sugar or processed net carbohydrates per serving.
- Can not increase blood sugar level over 140 mg/dL after 2 hours eating one serving.
- Can not increase blood sugar level over 100 mg/dL after 5 hours eating one serving.
