Chau Vuong, Pharm.D.

Chau is the founder of Applied Metadata, a software development company that specializes in financial services, e-commerce, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. Before Applied Metadata, he worked as an equity analyst for Wentworth, Hauser, & Violich, an asset management firm, and Robertson Stephens, an investment bank, covering pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Before that, he worked in marketing at Genentech, a leading biotech company. He also was involved in various pharmacoeconomics, pharmacokinetics, and toxicology studies for pharmaceutical and biotech companies including Johnson & Johnson, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Ionis Pharmaceuticals, and Gilead Sciences. He trained as a pharmacist at Sav-on Pharmacy (now CVS Pharmacy), San Francisco Department of Public Health, and Kaiser Permanente. His interest in food started at age 16 making Whoppers at Burger King. While in college, he worked at the university cafeteria and became a manager there.

Chau holds a doctorate in pharmacy from the University of California, San Francisco, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, San Diego with bachelor's degrees in biochemistry & cell biology and psychology.
